The founders
Cristina Moreno
Cristina was born in Spain but has lived in Germany for long enough to call it her second home. She speaks four languages and has a BA in Hispanic Philology; she specialises in communication, translation, and foreign trade.
After working for two years as Multilingual Content Manager for XING, she decided, together with Jan Hinrichs, to set up Beluga Linguistics and to take an independent route where she could apply her knowledge and experience, participating in projects related to information technology.
Cristina has a lively mind and is completely dedicated to her work. Languages are her passion and she is presently studying a course in applied linguistics. At Beluga, she is responsible for multilingual projects and is in charge of selecting linguists and coordinating resources.
Jan Hinrichs
Of German origin, Jan is a born entrepreneur. His passions are languages and cultural diversity. He studied Business Administration and Management at the University of Applied Sciences in Munster, and moved to Spain in 2003. He worked for three years with XING, in areas linked with the growth of the networking platform.
He set up the databases and linguistic processes for internationalization and was responsible for launching XING in Spain. He founded Beluga Linguistics with Cristina in 2006.
In his work, Jan demonstrates all of the qualities that people typically expect of a German: he is serious, methodical and responsible. In human relationships, he is open and friendly, and has a talent for putting ideas into practice with creativity and enthusiasm. He is Beluga's Managing Director; he develops and directs strategic planning, technological projects, and consultancy.
